The long-awaited teaser of Ramayana featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Yash has finally been unveiled. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the epic first look has stirred excitement among fans, offering a glimpse of what could potentially be one of Indian cinema’s biggest blockbusters. However, while the teaser itself impressed, the release strategy unfortunately fell short—impacting its initial reach and performance.
Where Can You Watch the Ramayana Teaser?
The teaser was launched on a newly created YouTube channel named World Of Ramayana, which garnered over 109K subscribers within 24 hours—a strong start. However, due to the channel’s newness, it lacked SEO authority. As a result, even when manually searched on YouTube, the teaser didn’t appear among the top 20 results. With no watch-time history or audience retention metrics, the video struggled to gain traction through organic discovery—despite having the right keywords.

Ramayana Teaser View Count: First 24 Hours
In its first 24 hours, the teaser attracted only 7 million views on the World Of Ramayana channel. It was later uploaded to Sony Music India’s channel (seemingly as a corrective step), adding another 6.1 million views. The combined total reached 13.1 million—still falling short of the 19.1 million needed to break into the top 10 most-viewed Bollywood trailers in 24 hours (a list currently rounded out by Sanju).
The Content Was Gold—But the Strategy Faltered
What’s unfortunate is that the teaser had everything going for it. Ranbir Kapoor and Yash’s appearances lived up to the immense hype. The background score by AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer was nothing short of goosebump-inducing, and the VFX was truly world-class. Nitesh Tiwari clearly delivered on audience expectations.
Had the teaser been launched on an established channel or cross-promoted more strategically from the outset, it might have set new records.
Final Thoughts
Ramayana had the potential to deliver the most-viewed teaser in Indian cinema history. While the release strategy was a misstep, it’s not too late. If Namit Malhotra and team can build up the World Of Ramayana channel or pivot to a smarter distribution approach, the trailer could still dominate.
With a powerful cast including Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, Sai Pallavi, Sunny Deol, and others, Ramayana Part I is set to release on Diwali 2026, followed by Part II in Diwali 2027. The buzz is real, and with the right strategy moving forward, the film can reclaim its rightful momentum—both in hearts and in numbers.
